About Robert S. Burress
After graduating from Florida State University with a bachelor’s in chemical science, Dr. Burress completed his doctorate at University of South Florida in Tampa. His internship and residency in internal medicine were performed at East Carolina University. He served as an internist in the Air Force and was decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. While in the military, he completed a fellowship in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining Allergy & Asthma Associates he practiced pulmonary and critical care medicine at the West Florida Medical Center Clinic for six years. To better care for his patients with asthma, he returned to training in allergy and immunology at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Burress’ training in pulmonology, allergy, and immunology brings a depth of knowledge regarding asthma and respiratory diseases to his practice. He believes that forming a partnership with his patients is the key to a successful treatment regimen.
