How Allergy Testing Works
Your Guide to Your Appointment Experience
During your appointment, we’ll first discuss your symptoms to determine which allergens to test for. A skin test will then be performed.
On the same day as your skin test, our board-certified allergists will provide you with the results. You’ll learn about your specific allergies and their severity.
After diagnosis, you’ll receive a customized allergy treatment plan. This may involve simple environmental modifications, medication management or more advanced options like immunotherapy using allergy shots or drops.
Antihistamines should be avoided for the five days leading up to your appointment. Your asthma medication and other essential medications can still be taken as usual. Click here for a complete list of medications to avoid before your allergy-testing appointment.
